Ok, so won a bargain on E Bay.. trouble is... it's just to good a bargain somehow.. The current dealer has sold other cars and has a good rep/feedback. However, he has said he is still waiting for the V5 from the leasing company they bought the car from.

So, wondered if anyone was in that area and could perhaps check the car or dealer out perhaps... Theres no way i can part with the cash without the V5. I have checked the car and it has come back HPI clear etc

The leasing company would have a copy of the v5 and possible proof of purchase.

Was the car purchase through a auction by the current garage

Indeed HPI is a manual update - not instant.

Gord Its norman mate, i once got a volvo from work, had to wait for the paperwork to come from leasing company :kiltsmilie: and it was still on the hpi as owing money :confused1: that took 3 weeks to clear off the hpi

Norman or normal

Anyway, the car has cleared HPI check. I have checked a previous buyer on e bay and he confirmed the guy is a small time car dealer and had no issues with the van he bought from him. The car has a new mot, tax etc.. but as already said, no V5 from the leasing company.. and that single fact is my only worry... I cannot presently think of a way to verify the car is not stolen or worse actually leased to the leasing company still !

Quick Update..
Got the details of the leasing company that owned the car and sold it to ther trader direct. They confirmed it was legitimate and that indeed it takes time for the V5 to come through due to thier admin system etc.

So, got the train up to Leeds yesterday, drove it, checked it all over and done the deal :thumbup1:

Drove 315 miles home, car didn't miss a beat and averaged 61.3mpg at 80/90mph  and it pulls so well under acceleration too.. really pleased with the car and bargain price too with all the goodies on board. The wierdest thing to get used to was the "Stop/Start" technology.. freaky

So now apart from giving it a good clean, I have to get her other car sold too Big Grin
