Rabster Nissan 350z GT4 From birth Till
ok so i did get all the car pc installed today and running not with any gadgets but the general windows and centrafuse combo etc
there is no space to work in this car lol
however have struck a small issue with the car pc audio the pc is for some reason not outputing a load enough volume so the headunit is struggling with the power to function
im looking into this may be as simple as dodgy drivers but any of the it guys know anything that would be great lol
if i use my normal laptop its fine and the same if i use my mobile its only if i use the car pc in the car it has issues grrr
its a very stealthy install if i do say so lol
Looking good so far, but whats this 'Centrafuse' you speak of? Is it some kind of windows based touchscreen interface thingy? Because I've got a netbook running to a touchscreen in my IS200 nav housing and a decent touchscreen interface would be really useful!
Yes Centrafuse is as interface that you can set up all your media in one programme and access it in a nice interface.
check it out at
http://www.centrafuse.com/
Ok so sorted the sound problem looks like it was dodgy codec/driver and the on board sound card so I ordered a upgraded sound card creative labs sound blaster and fitted that this morning installed all drivers and hey presto all sound works
So left on the list find decent location for sat nav rx
Make obd reader work
Obd is a pain I remember this from the lexus but can't find my settings anywhere so may have to wait till jae for it.....
ok so we had productive few days ish
i was getting the car pc sorted on Sunday and had the engine running so the battery wouldnt die whilst doing the last bit of programming, looked up at the dash to see the water temperature spike and smoke bellowing from the engine bay
tuned the car off and opened the engine bay to have the boiling coolant chucked all over me lol
let it cool down and tried to restart it was verry hesitant and grumbled etc so feared the worst and called the AA
they came out and all is good no head gasket failure looks like a common Nissan fault where the fans sometimes wont work if stationary...
so looking for either an uprated system or cheap new fans.
so with that worry over i continued with the car pc
So here is the new Carnetix loom Made up and measurement made on where to run the cables as with 90% of my work i braided the cables and heat shrunk the ends
Here is the new pc Location
there is a gap under neath here which was ideal to store the PSU and any other ancillary items in
so with that in place time to mount the camera
So onto the checklist
Rear Camera - DOne
Sat Nav -Done
AUX input on headunit - Done
OBD Reader - Outstanding
Fit New screen in cubby hole -Done
Power New screen of same psu as PC - Done
Automatic switching of rear Camera -Done
Sort out poor audio quality - Done
So with the above list 99% completed here is the finished article
NOw the screen
Now for a few videos
Lovely work mate as always! Probably on your list already but you have to motorise that lid - that would make it perfect!!
Btw, is there some trim missing from that bit under the screen? Is it supposed to be like that?
there is a bit of trim on order lol but i dodnt fancy a gap so made that one fit.....
motorised lid is on the list and then maybe a 8" screen if i can make it fit....
