As would be hinted by my name, I do actually participate in the world of track athletics as a sprinter for my local club. When I'm not at work or modding my car I am normally on the track or in the gym training. And thought I may aswell share my progress on the track, as well as on the car Smile

My events are the 100m and 200m, the 200m being my preffered event. And being a 21 year old, means I'm still in the U23 category for another year.

My 100m time is 10.90 seconds, which is around a second off the current world leading times.

And as of last saturday, my time in the 200m is 21.80 seconds which puts me about 20th in the UK rankings this year.

I was also a cadet years ago where I was the UK champion in both events 3 years in a row too :Bazza:

I'm on an unbeaten winning streak in both the 100m and 200m in the league which my club participates in, with only 1 of the 6 matches still to go, so I'm looking to complete the set next weekend :thumbup1:

Anyways, just thought I'd stick this up so you can get to know 'the man behind the car'

JAE is Japanese Auto Extravaganza - My misses guessed it correctly, though she denies it, I still think she googled it!

I remember you commenting on another thread Sprinter, and I mentioned I used to be a bit of a Sprinter myself! IIRC my PB for 100m was about 12.1, (though that was at under 16s and 10 years ago!) though my main event was sprint hurdles, in which I one year got into he English Schools final race. I finished last, which isn't normally considered good, but it put me 8th in the country at the time, and impressed a lot of people as (you will note if we ever meet - JAE maybe?) I am not a big or tall guy, in a field of (no offence to anyone intended here) mainly massive black guys. I looked a bit like a boy amongst men! Maybe something in the genes, as my Dad used to run mid/low 10s in his youth, and to this day holds the 100m and long jump records at his school, quite an achievement considering he is now approaching 60!

I also used to run the 4x100 relay (as sprint hurdlers often get roped into!) and always ran the fist leg, as I usually had a very explosive start and actually enjoyed running the bend! Was also proficient at long and triple jump, and so as a kid occasionally did heptathlon/decathlon events too, though hated running middle distance! I ran for Exeter Harriers and for Devon.

Best of luck for the rest of the season mate.
