Moley ^^^^^^^^^

How do you do that Dave ??:blushing:

If you're still using firefox just follow these instructions:

Select options from the tools menu
Click on the tab for privacy
Set the dropdown box to use custom settings for history

At this point you have two choices, either set it to automatically run in a private browsing session (which will stop mrs ormi finding out where you surf marc) or use the settings I use:

I have a tick in the boxes for:
Accept cookies
Accept third party cookies (some sites I use require this)
The keep until box is set to "until I close firefox"
And clear history when firefox closes.

Clear enough?

Never had security software in over 4yrs,
Being honest what is the worse that can happen to me? A virus, then I will do a fresh install and that brings the laptop back up to speed and sometimes is long overdue.
Cant hack my bank account as I have a couple and only one is used for internet transactions, no money is ever in it, when I purchase online I only transfer a set sum to cover the costs.,
I mat be naive and ignorant to it all I suspect.

It's not just viruses though Phil...

Other malware can be installed without your knowledge, you could find your PC is part of some massive botnet contributing to cyber attacks or whatever...

just sayin' Smile

as I said, a bit naive,
what harm would a botnet or cyber attack do to me or the lappy, if it is a real threat then I may rethink but up until now fingers crossed.
I did once buy a norton anti virus but in my opinion all that did was make me a target from norton to be hit with upgrades and annual subscriptions that popped up all the time, and it could be only installed to one pc, fine until my lappy was replaced under warranty

I got a virus that killed my hard drive once, again not the end of the world if you're backed up but a hassle nonetheless.

Is it just me that would rather receive ads targeted at things I'm interested in then?

Sure, its a bit big brother'ish, but in reality its all automated so its not like someone is sitting in a room going "ooh, Mr Johnson likes Redtube" or anything like that.

Those that dont like ads, use an adblocker.
Those that realise ads are what makes half of the internet possible, be greatful you're getting something relevant - not ads for sanitary towels.
