rolling arches
rolling arches
so we now have a arch roller at work at the guy has been doing a few cars but before i let him do the lexus i need to ask a few question to all those who have rolled arches.
1 st question is how far out have people rolled the arches with out problems and what is recommended to roll out to.
2nd is about the paint, how easy is it to burn or damage the paint with the heater gun as i know lexus paint is not so hard.
3rd is about wheel offset once the arches are rolled and what size tyre width can you get on the back.
time for some bigger wheels and tyres on the back i think
I just got my rear arch lip rolled flat , I did not go for stretching them out any .
Good tip is to clean inside the arch with a wire brush preferable fitted to a small grinder to get all the old crud out . Also get some sealant in there before you start to roll it.
As long as you have the paint a small amount hotter than warm to touch you will be ok.
ive got an arch roller too and a heat gun.....im thinking about rolling mine too to get rid of some of the camber...might flare the fronts too
not had it long matey my friend gave me it..
I had mine rolled flat too. It looked like the guy who did it heated them up to just past the point where you'd be able to touch them without going *ouch*.
The roll ended up pulling the arches out by about 2-3mm IIRC. It certainly wasn't much, but just a side effect of the rolling.
As moley said, make sure the crud is cleared out first and get some sealant in there before + after rolling.
I'm running 9's in the back now with ET32 offsets and stretched 225 tyres.
Fozzy has it mate.
