So thanks to a little corrosion, the lovely people at Lexus have just resprayed my bonnet and rear wing and they are looking lovely. Particularly the bonnet - after so many years it's amazing to see it without any stone chips in it!

Looking to do whatever I can to keep it looking great, what should I do? Just slap on a few coats of wax? Or is there anything else to do first?

Also can I touch the paint now or do I need to wait a bit?

Where's the pics?

I think you're meant to leave the fresh paint a week or something though before you start doing stuff with it...

IS200 Sport - Sold
Mazda 6 MPS - Zoom Zoom!

Modifications
Completed:

Currently 280bhp/295lbft; 3" Meercat custom exhaust; KW Suspension; FMIC; SSP; HPFP; Custom Stainless Steel Dials - for the moment, the only set in the world!! (Till the group buy for MPSOC anyway  )

In Progress:

E-Tuning remap ongoing via Cobb Accessport; Braided brake lines; Stubby aerial; Tinted repeaters and sidelights; 3 Port Boost Control Solenoid; 3" HTP Intake

Sorry no pics at the mo, been so busy haven't even had a chance to properly inspect the work yet, just a quick glance at the car on the way to work!

Lol @ Dino: Actually recently changed jobs so always based in the city (which means using the tube) - have literally only done about 50 miles in the last month!

My experiences have been different advice depending on the paint itself .. when Suki was resprayed they told me not to use more than warm water hose pipe for a week and then gentle detergents and then in a fortnight i could polish it with whatever I liked..

The advice on Sachi is wash and polish it as soon you like but absolutely no silicon based product for at least six months I think whoever sprayed it should give you their recomendations Smile

Mike couldn't do anything but plain water for a month, then could use a PH neutral shampoo, couldn't do anymore for three months, she's only just had her first wax lol

you can wash and polish as normal......heres the steps once your cars been painted
after paint its poss flattened using 2k grit paper but thats depending on the painter
then the valeters wash it
then it will get a machine buff starting rough then going to a finishing polish then it will get washed again then a final polish...
so i cant see you doing any harm by washing/waxing it
