Let's say that I've already got all coolant drained, I've removed the radiator and the serp belt is off. How involved is the water pump replacement?

Mine has a nice pink hair-do forming underneath it, so I think the seals may be perished or something.

Not squirting as efficiently as possible

Cheers mate. My fears are confirmed - it says the timing belt needs to come off in order to do it. UGH

I was about to say, I expect it will, I've done them both on a couple of other Toyotas. If one needs changing, it makes sense to do both, while you're in there!

EDIT: When I say "I've done them," I mean I have paid a processional quite a lot of money to do them for me! This was a few years back though, I try to do everything myself now.

Aye, thing is my belt was only changed 8k ago, so unless I go for a Greddy timing belt just for extra bling, it probably ain't worth swapping.

Maybe I'll just clean up the water pump instead and see if there's anywhere I can run some sealant over to stop the leak. Then I'll just get it done when my head is pulled for the new pistons.
