Disable IS220d alarm?
My battery died on me last night, and i have no idea why, so i called the AA out, but as i got out the car the alarm when bazerk, and as there wasnt enough tricity in the battery to recognise the key i couldnt turn it off,
so almost an hour of that going off before the AA arrived was a tad annoying,
is it as easy as removing the power to the battery? didnt have any tools on me to sort it, but i came close to just ripping a lead off, or ripping the **** horn out,.......
Im not into these keyless entry and button starts no more lol

jimxms I'd think that it would be just a case of removing the battery. I can't imagine that the OEM alarm will have a separate battery backup for the horn (could be wrong tho!)
I would imagine this to be the case too. Just removing the -ive battery lead would be far too easy! Plus if it is Thatcham alarm then there are strict specs it must follow, I'm pretty sure a backup battery source is one of them.

i think all lexus cars carry a backup siren and if its thatcham approved it will remember its last state so if you have left it armed then disconnected the battery it will still run for a short period then upon re connection the alarm should sound again the short zap on the terminal is normally enough to keep a siren going for a few minutes. best thing to do is locate the siren and unplug it, this does involve getting hands dirty.....
the alarm should have a two sounders, one will be the horn and one will be a rechargeable battery sounder in the boot area, just unplugging the horn and disconnecting battery will still allow the rear sounder to make a noise, even unplugging this it will not stop until the rechargeable batt pack has discharged.
everything locked up fine, didnt indicate that any doors/boot/bonnet were open causing an alarm to go off, no lights were on, no buzzers for interior lights or headlights,
i cant figure why the battery is draining and then setting the alarm off :S
Mums had the AA out to it and their diagnostic thing isnt coming back to say anything was left on and the guys bemused apparently so jsut elft the battery disconnected which apparently solved the alarm issue,
just means when i re-connect it, the alarm will go nuts, until i start it,,
not good when i leave for work at 5.45am on a rather large estate lol

yeah blasted it quite hard for 10 minutes or so, then whacked on a battery charger at home for an hour on trickle charge, when and started it this morning, it locked and unlocked fine, started first time, turned it off after a few minutes and put it back on to charge for an hour, then left it.
