KP's 1989 AE92 GTi-16
Having been waiting 4 months for the Big End Bearings I have found someone local to supply them, so tomorrow I pick them up and get her built and working in the week!
KP
Got my hands on some bearings and again they are the wrong size, I am now so pressed for time and I don't know what will fit any more, this engine defies common 4A-GE knowledge!!
I'm taking the rods and crank to a specialist next week and I may be lucky enough to have her running in time for JAE but it is highly unlikely.
KP
Well she never made it to JAE but I did get some trick little Dust Caps which hopefully won't get nicked  They're polished with black tops and a silver Toyota Badge in the black. Just a nice finishing touch.
I am now ordering another set of bearings... if they don't fit I am likely going to give up and put a V8 in it.
Also, I will soon be making an Exhaust Heat Shield for the rear bumper, nothing crazy just a bit of sheet steel and rivets. I'm going to try and find something to finish the edge of it nicely.
KP
I recognise this from the toyotaownerclub post, Looks good i do like AE92's and all that work put into this for sure !
Thank you both guys!
So tonight I walk in with one set of problems, solve most of them and walk out with some more  I need to get to a motor factors tomorrow to nab myself a proper Water-Pump O-Ring. I'm not using the "Shave-A-Penny" solid rubbish my kit came with
The cam covers are on and so is the Fuel rail with a few other bits and bobs.
Tomorrow I have to de-immobilise the R32 Skylines Fuel Pump and then I can carry on with my engine, which needs that O-Ring before I can get on with the Timing Belt and thus the rest of the build.
Watch this space...

Plenty of Updates for today, in general the engine is now ready to be hooked into the Gearbox and dropped into the car
Got the O-Rings having returned home after forgetting my Wallet :banghead: But it gave me a chance to pick up some other bits and pieces such as a Sump Plug Washer and Cable Ties which were pretty vital pieces. Unfortunately I needed to order the Oil Filter through ECP but that should arrive on Tuesday. The car will be here on Monday for me to get the engine in and running
So, I have fitted the timing end and Samco Vacuum lines, along with just about everything else the engine needed!
Spot the differences lol:
I will have a load of cleaning to do on the engine bay which is a pain to say the least, but it will be gorgeous when complete!
KP
looks spot on.
