New camera
Hi guys,
I'm looking at getting a new dslr, been looking at the Canon 550d, just getting into photography and wanted something that will last a couple of years.
Any advice is as always welcome.
Yeah mate 550d is good, so is the 7D if you can afford it!
I like mine though, easy, 350D, 8MP and it's easy to use and takes great pictures.
Anees Paul, a Canon 550d is good. The lens are far more important then the camera so spend your money on the lens.

newdriftking Thanks for the advice, was going to go for a cheaper body, but then after a little research the 550d worked out the same as the .1100d...
I'm gonna look more into lenses later on, at the moment want to get used to a dslr.
I've read several reviews about this camera and they all day its a good choice for beginners....

Anees I have the standard Canon 18-55 IS Kit Lens available too (Never been used) so you could buy that off me and save some money on the camera.

Don't be fooled into thinking you HAVE to go for a big name like Nikon or Canon.
My camera (Sony DSLR-A350) had far higher spec for the money than the equivalent Canon/Nikon at the time and is still very much up to date with features/specs 3 years on. 14.2MP, LiveView with a tiltable LCD screen, fastest AF motor available & the list goes on....
You may think, Sony? They have no history of making DSLR's? And you'd be right, however they bought out the company 'Konica Minolta', who was formed when 'Konica' and 'Minolta' merged, and have been in the game as long, if not longer than both Canon and Nikon! Their lenses are also made by Carl Zeiss.
My point is not necessarily to go and buy a Sony, but just don't be suckered into the iPod way of thinking "well everyone else has one so I'll get one"
However that being said, if you like the Canon and it does everything you require of it without paying silly money why not!
