I won't buy on a whim, and know 3 other people with Canon cameras and 1 is a pro photographer, so I've done a little research.

16-07-2018, 11:10 PM #12i just got me a samsung nx camera, very good spec and i'm very happy with it, they are not to pricy and you can pick up a new one with 2 lens for 500 pounds on ebay, in my book they seem very good value for money

With minimal effort (and skill!) my D90 far outperforms my brothers 500D - set them up properly though and the difference becomes smaller.

From what I've read the 550D is a great camera, I do think the body is important too if you're not skilled with a camera (like me)

Probably a good choice then, as you may even be able to borrow a lens every now and then if you ask nicely :p

My camera weakness is no external mic so i can only use the built in mic, that was a small compromise on choosing this model.
There are different reasons why people buy camera's for me it as important to take a good picture and a good quality video and have a useful on screen guide to taking better photo's...
