DannyGT cheers guys! not much in the way of modding yet just new exhaust with no silencer so its properly loud! but i have so plans for it im in the middle of saving to get my turbo kit for it and all new internals should push it to 420bhp after all fitted and remapped, very excited!

Sounds good mate ! Did not realise you could get that type of figure out of those with a turbo kit on

Looking forward to the build, whis doing the work ?

the vvti engine is not one of the strongest to run that sort of power reliably, ok for weekend drags etc but not as a every day driver. You are going to need some serious money thrown at it
Your friend may have got 750hp but that is a tuff old engine in the r33

For everyday use, you would be better off getting a vvtl-i @190hp and running a blower,

my mate at se7en motorsport is making a 190 with two rotrex superchargers and a turbo. its going to be the only triple charged celica in the uk. but he is only looking at 500bhp with that monster. to get that sort of power out of a 190 with only one turbo it will have to be a massive turbo and i just think it will be un-drivable for every day use.

please dont think we are putting you off mate. we just want you to know what you are looking at. always best to do some homework before jumping in.

That. Is. SICK!

But I would be inclined to agree with Daz and Phil. Not trying to put you off, but that sounds a lot of power for that engine to be hoping to drive it daily. I don't know these engines as well as those guys do, but I know what is involved getting that power reliably from the 2 litre 3S-GTE lump from the 6th Gen, and imagine it to be harder and more expensive than that! I wish you the best of luck though, just advice you to do as much research into it as possible.

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:

yeah people seem to forget that these are only 1.8ltr engines. and they try and get the same power as a 3ltr twin turbo supra. dont get me wrong they are one hell of a lump. but when played with to that extent, become very unreliable. as said my mate has one of the se7en rotrex lumps and he has replaced every part to get the most out of it. but now its not any good for every day driving. 260-280bhp is a good safe amount for one of these lumps. and with these i dont really think you need any more. the VVTL-i engine is one of the best around for this car. i would say you are looking at around 10-15k to get what you want out of it. then you will also have the fuel. i think my mate said his one does around 18-19mpg now. with the figure you are after i would say more like 15-18mpg.

all these things you will have to take in to account. and the insurance ect.. if you dont mind me asking how old are you?
