I'll wait until I see the bumper on with the DRL - like the idea of them but am struggling to imagine the finished article.

Can't fault the quality of your work though mate - it's looking fab!

Looking good mate. Agree with the others though - that bumper definitely needs an intercooler behind it.

What I suppose you could do is put an intercooler behind there and then spray on the front of it using a template "Interfooler" or "Forge..d", so you're right up front with it not being real straight away.


Or maybe even spray your aircon rad silver so it sticks out?

Cheers Jim, I'm hoping to have a mass modding session before the Ace Cafe meet and get the bumper, skirts, zorst and coilies all fitted.

Already officially started saving for turbo parts so I can put a real intercooler in there Smile

But I think for now I'll leave it, although I might have a go at spraying the rad silver like you suggested. (I do like your 'interfooler' idea though :p)

i asked someone the question and said its pointless, but i thought if you could build one for the price of a charger, then your in a perfect position to get a emanage, injectors and turn the wick up. . .

depends what your mates definition of pointless is...

If he thinks buying a turbo and having it sat there doing not a lot is pointless then I suppose it is pointless.

But as far as I'm concerned if I can get the same power as a supercharger, with off the shelf parts. And then have the option to just keep increasing power as funds allow, its win win really Smile

Marsdendean ^ it wasn't a friend, it was when i was talking to someone about going turbo when i had my charger.

IMO a charger will produce around *i'm guessing* 260Bhp with a upgraded pully and all the bits that need to go with it, and a turbo will run very well at 260bhp with all the similar mods ie mapping and injectors. Only thing with a charger is the unique noise, but a turbo you can always turn the wick up a little bit more if you want to risk it . . . .

I think the noise of the charger under hard acceleration when your flooring it sounds fantastic, but if you put a smaller (faster spinning) pulley on it then its gunna be making quite a bit of noise all the time, and I think that would just get on my tits under normal driving conditions after a while. lol Whereas I could listen to the more subtle whoosh of a turbo and bov allllll day Smile

It's just the room for improvement that attracts me to the turbo...265hp is close to the limit of efficiency for the supercharger I'd have thought. But the turbo is only just getting started at that figure Wink

I definitely think I'd have to put the boost controller somewhere I couldn't reach from the drivers seat though, because I know the temptation would get too much and I'd end up blowing up my engine.:Fish:

Latest bumper related update:

These bad boys turned up at work today...

4" driving lamps with built in LED angel eyes.

Note 'Driving Lamps' not 'fog lights', they come with wiring and relays to link them up to your main beam circuit so you can cook rabbits before they reach your bumper Wink

Yet another update...

Went into work today to have a go at making some brackets to hold my new driving lights in the bumper.

I succeeded in getting them to hold the lights securely, but they didn't sit inside the bumper in a position I'm happy with, so I'll remake them on Monday with a slightly different design.

Brackets cut and punched...

And with the light attached...

They sit too high and too far forward in the bumper for my liking with the brackets how they are now, so I'm going to do the same thing again but with a deeper bracket. And I'll make my own version of the stainless steel bit that came with the light so it hangs down further to centralise it vertically more.
