It was delivered this morning by TNT.
The packaging.....looks well enough protected.

To say that I'm not entirely happy with TNT is putting it mildly.
I have contacted them and they have fobbed me off, although this has clearly been smashed around their van.
I am now in contact with the courier agent whom the delivery was booked through......I await a response
I bought a new bootlid on eBay so that I can finally get my T-Wing spoiler painted and fitted.

We have a business account with TNT and have never had any problems, although most of what we send out is fairly chunky metal stuff so difficult to break (although you'd have thought a boot would be difficult to break too...)

Granted it is not the strongest part of metal on the car, however I would need a hammer to do that sort of damage.
I want them to repair it and if I get no joy then it is off to trading standards I go.
It looks as though it has been wedged under something and pulled up and out or something of considerable weight has been dropped on it.

I have been in touch with the seller and he is going to send some Hi-res pics of the bootlid before it was packed for collection.
This is one that has to be fought, there is no way that they can get away with this.
Apparently they tried to deliver it yesterday, but they couldn't find my house/address. I can imagine that after coming all the way out here only to go back to the depot at Leeds it was thrown off the van in disgust.
The courier agent has been in touch. Asked the usual questions about checking before signing etc...

I've had claims go on for 6months+ with various couriers (Parcelforce, DHL, Citylink) and they seem to just string it out in the hope that you'll get fed up and let it slide.
Ugh that really sucks mate. Trick now is to badger them every hour of every day until they get fed up with you and cave in.

I have had the same. In the end I gave up and let it slide, they won.
I could see them arguing that is was not well enough packed. It should have had more padding on the edges or it should have been in a box, that sort of thing, and that they are not responsible.

If you gave me a box of eggs to deliver, and they are fragile, I would deliver them with care as it is my duty as the courier.
I'm out on the road all day long, have you seen the way some of these courier drivers operate, they swing round 180 degrees in the middle of the road with the smallest gap in traffic, they accelerate at a vast rate of knots from a standstill as they have 30-40 parcel to deliver in a day, to them time is the essence, they dont care if the load on the back is being tossed around like clothes in a tumble drier.

That boot lid of Billy's even if it was in cardboard packaging would have still sustained the same damage,the courier firm caused it.
