Hey guys,

I mentioned this in my introduction topic in the welcome forum so sorry for duplicating a bit but I could use your thoughts/experiences.

Im thinking about getting an induction kit for my MR2 (which is an N/A Rev 4).
After chatting with my dad who knows a thing or two about cars, he thought it might loose some of the low down torque as it would remove the resonator boxes as well as a little plastic L shaped pipe just before the throttle body which he said creates some turbulence in the air before it enters the engine and creates a kind of pulsing effect? (Sometimes he talks bollocks but this makes sense to me)

I see where he is coming from as he removed a baffle/funnel thing from inside the air box in his old BMW and it made it terrible low down.

Anyway, the kit I want is the K&N 57-0387 so I was wondering if anyone noticed any difference (good or bad) with the kit (or any other induction kit) fitted?
Not looking for power gain, only a bit of extra noise to go with the exhaust I had fitted.

Cheers.

Matt

when I removed the stock air box from the wifes MK2 Rev4 3sge, it lost a noticeable amount of low end torque and mid range acceleration, but it did make a wonderful sound, so its really a trade off, and only you can decide if its a mod you like.
Try it out first, then make your mind up.
I personally went back to the airbox

1990 Eunos Roadster in Mariner DU blue
Cobalt cat back, Decat pipe, 15in Red Rota GT3 alloys, Toyo tyres, Lowered on Coil overs, Red anti roll bars, 14degree timing mod, white dash kit, illuminated side marker lights,
Halo ring headlights, OEM windblocker, Bluetooth streaming HU, Blue leather handbrake and gear lever gaitor, Centre brake/tail light mod, Blue velour door cards, Polished cam cover, Polished front strut bar, 4xheadrest speakers, JDM floor mats, Suede semi dish steering wheel,
