jimxms Ooh that looks quite interesting sprinter. I wonder if black printed on chrome looks any different to gloss black? Could be a way to get a super-shiny black without the effort.

I still haven't got the idea of a gs430/450 out of my head yet tho, do I better straighten my head out befor dumping 2g on wrapping the LS

Jim,get the car sorted first mate before you spend all that money on the colour,

Remember your first blue IS, how long did you have that one for mate, I know what you are like.

1990 Eunos Roadster in Mariner DU blue
Cobalt cat back, Decat pipe, 15in Red Rota GT3 alloys, Toyo tyres, Lowered on Coil overs, Red anti roll bars, 14degree timing mod, white dash kit, illuminated side marker lights,
Halo ring headlights, OEM windblocker, Bluetooth streaming HU, Blue leather handbrake and gear lever gaitor, Centre brake/tail light mod, Blue velour door cards, Polished cam cover, Polished front strut bar, 4xheadrest speakers, JDM floor mats, Suede semi dish steering wheel,

Yeah I may go test drive a GS450 tonight and have a shot at fitting the pushchair in the boot. If it doesn't fit with some room to spare for shopping, then I can immediately get it out of my head.

Also the GS430 (newer 2005ish shape) seems rare as hens teeth, which is a shame as I think 'd be more comfortable driving an 'all motor' car rather than a hybrid despite the performance and mpg benefits.

I thought the Hybrid GS was a better drive to be fair, and it felt quicker.

2tongues I thought the Hybrid GS was a better drive to be fair, and it felt quicker.

Yeah its deffo quicker to the point its often compared to the M5 and E55, but I'm not sure how the Mrs will react to the boot space. Especially now she's seen the enormous LS boot.

Probably personal preference, but I didn't find it better to drive than the GS430, and it definitely is nowhere near an M5 or E55........it didn't even feel as much quicker than our CLS350 than I was expecting. It was quicker of course, but I was expecting it to be a lot quicker given the figures and it simply wasn't.

I'm sure it's partly because I drove a 450h for the first time this year having heard years of praise as the comments above, but I was incredibly disappointed.

I personally could live with the boot, but if you've got a lot of kids stuff to get in I doubt it would be acceptable.

I probably shouldn't dwindle on the power aspect too much, as my main reason for considering the GS is because I want something bigger than the IS, but smaller than the LS, that still has a fairly sporty appearance and isn't a BMW or an Audi.

I'd quite fancy a Merc if I'm honest, but I'm only interested in the newer more aggressively styled ones which I think are all out of my price range.

Fair enough, you've got to have a go in a 450h though to clear your head of it!

It wasn't the power that bothered me most, it was the noise and harshness - engine sounds weedy and annoying, while also being far too loud (not in a good way). Plus the CVT box holds it at constant revs which makes it sound even worse.

Back on the wrapping point though, I vote for white as well - I find large saloon cars in matt black don't look great (saw a phantom the other day that looked awful), it's something that suits sports cars more.

Think matt silver looks awesome though, seen quite a few of those M3s (like the one on Top Gear) and it really works as a matt finish.

The engine noise does worry me somewhat. I'm a sucker for a burble and grunt and would certainly be a little upset if it sounds like a milk float.

sprinter2012 Just spent a good half hour looking for this company who I saw ages ago...(Totally Dynamic)

And in the process, decided that even white is just too common for you Jim. Every car on their site is white or black.

Anyway, I was trying to find an example of this special effect they developed where you can print colours onto a chrome foil to get results like this...

I took a picture of that 599 last year, not far from where I live. The world is a small place :tongue_smilie:
