Sometimes I get in my V8, and just sit there revving and listening. I love it. Though the car ain't roadworthy and I really should sell it, I can't bare to part with the V8!

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:

The whole of my motoring life i have loved the sound of a V8, I owned 6 Rover SD1's,two V8's, V8S,V8SE,VP V8i and Vittese V8i, the Vitesse i took the middle exhaust boxes off and just had the rear silancer, how good that baby sounded, arr the good old days.
Sometimes i can be found looking for V8 sound tracks on you tube.....do i need to get out more !

I found a photo the other day of an exhaust manifold design which clearly illustrated the difference between a Ferrari-style V8 and a conventional one.

So this is your standard V8 exhaust manifold. Takes exhaust gas from 1 bank, combines them all together then heads for the back of the car in 4-2-1 format (obviously, 1 on each side of the engine):

This is how ferrari do it, mixing the exhaust gas from both banks together:
