this club does not condone street racing in any form, and id like to think our members do back this up and not do it.
i have queued for over an hour to get towards the shopping centre during the day so what was the big deal on that night ?
as for the poor girl who lost her dad that night in hospital and couldnt get there done blame the cars for it, it could be any number of reasons to cause a traffic hold up in harlow as most of us find every day driving round harlow.
as normal its one sided, press always say its bad and racing etc but if this was the case why did the police who were there not stop it ?

Edit: OK, that article's been updated since I first read it, they are now saying that the police were informed in advance. If that was the case, why didn't they have traffic management in place beforehand?
They should have cleared it with the local police first, like most well organised gatherings do. It certainly sounds from that article that they didn't. Even the well organised meets have ***** turning up and making fools of themselves (last Miss Banzai run I saw an RX8 spin out on a roundabout in the middle of a load of traffic...) so it really doesn't surprise me that there were people there racing and generally being anti social.
Edit: OK, that article's been updated since I first read it, they are now saying that the police were informed in advance. If that was the case, why didn't they have traffic management in place beforehand?

03-10-2018, 08:50 AM #26The notice period given would make me believe there was very little notice to the Police, they are extremely expensive people to have doing traffic duty for an "event", it would then have to have planning permission etc.
