Moley Well we have an X3 , but our winters are more like winter than your's are :kiltsmilie:

But I'm also looking for some thing cheep and nasty and I think it might have to be a diesel for me for winter

Am i right in thinking diesels don't run so well in winter because the stuff starts to go gloopy if it gets too cold

yes that is correct , but I think you just put in a bit of petrol into the tank to stop that from happening , but I could be wrong because I've never had a diesel

Lexus IS200 Mods--TTE Supercharger, Tein Superstreet Coilovers & EDFC, 6000K HID Lights, HKS Silent High Power Exhaust, DBA Front Discs, Kenwood DNX9240 Head Unit, 19" Rims, TRD Kit, FIGS Bonnet Struts, Greddy Pillar Pod & Defi Gauges, TTE Red ARBS . And Been To WIM twice

Maybe 20 years ago lol, the additives are changed year round to suit the temperatures. There is no issue with diesel fuel any more.

That's alright. Sure there will be plenty of opportunity for that.

If it does have an LSD it will be a torsen one, unlike the MK2 viscous one, so you should really be able to feel it working!!

The IS300 is my all year round car but if the going gets tuff , i feel my daughter Toyota Aygo would stand a better chance, being fwd and having skinny tyres .

I've never really had trouble in the snow but then again this is my first time with a rwd lol I had one when I passed my test but unfortunately my trusty (slightly rusty) sierra didn't see the winter courtesy of a little boy in his micra, so could prove interesting, if not then I can always rely on mum and her 2.0 focus saloon Blush lol
