I have a V8 Discovery, with lifted suspension and chunky mud/sand/snow tyres, fully off road prepped. It will go ANYWHERE............ except it's broken, and I can't afford to fix, tax, MOT or insure it as a 3rd vehicle. Anyone wanna buy? Smile

I also have a little Pug that copes quite well in snow and ice, so will probably use that to avoid risking the Lex. Was gonna get winter tyres for the IS, as I have winter and summer wheels, but do so few miles these days, and as with everything, cash is a big factor!

By all accounts RWD cars are bad in snow and ice, and the more powerful ones the worst! You really want FWD or, ideally, 4WD. Winter tyres will help a lot on any vehicle too. Though I've found often the most important thing in severe conditions can often be the driver, not the car!

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:

Small light 4WD with skinny tyres would be ace fun in the snow. Something like a Subaru Justy or (dare I say it) an old 4WD Fiat Panda!

If it's the 8V then look into getting rid of the standard carb, it sucks, it will break and it's a hateful thing!

The SU carb swap is dead easy and would highly recommend it, IF you have an 8V.

Have a look on the difflock forum, loads of help there.
