Toy car weekend
Toy car weekend
Ok so last weekend Pete and i thought it was about time we got all the 1/8 Race cars running
now the last time we got these out was ready for JAE2010 but they never actually got started or used due to other factors at the show :topic:
So we tried again and we had a result
so 1st up on the starting line Hobao Hyper 7
OK so next on the line up is the Hobayo hyper 8.5
Next on the line up Jamara Cyclone
Now the big beast Losi Aftershock
Now this car is ****** big ok its not a car its a truggy
So in order to make these start we had to use
a starter Box
Radio Gear
Glow Starter
we found that they all had umm expired fuel in them and that the fuel had congield in the pipes and parts of the engine Pete spent the best part of an hour getting fresh fuel through the system before we could even attempt at starting......
we also found that some of the Glow plugs had seen better days luckily i have spare so we changed those and voila we were running we got all except the truggy working properly how ever this did mean i had to get some more spare bits
Batteries mainly as they had been allowed to discharge fully so wouldnt hold a full charge for long.....
Looking good Andrew
Would like to get 1 of those
I take it these are proper 1s not the halfords specials lol
Not that there is anything wrong with those 1s lol
oh yes mate these are the real deal and bloomin fast, there is one i haven't listed which belongs pete and its one of the quickest here, although i have now found a new engine that will drop into one of them that has a boost chamber woohooo
How many do you have???
Andy has 3 1/8th buggies, plus the large truggy. I have 1 1/8th buggy, but its pretty fast, although Andy's hyper 8.5 seemed pretty quick up and down the road. I think we will have to have a drag race!
The worst part of it is that it's been so long i cant remember how to tune the carburettors properly. I will have to spend some time playing to get the most power from them
I think in total about 18 rc vehicles lol some of them are vintage racers I'm told now so may well sell them to collectors....
You will get there Peter after all I have a spare engine to practice tuning on if it goes bang oh we'll lol
Why so many lol
I've always wanted to get one, and strap a camera to it, rig the camera to a screen on the remote control..and boom! a james bond style RCC.lol..ive never got round to this howeverad:
