Ok guys and gals I need some help. I obviously have a hole in my central heating somewhere. I'm guessing it's not upstairs as I would expect to see damp ceilings etc, so must assume it is under my wooden floors downstairs. Any ideas how I can find it without lifting my floors all up. it's t n g flooring so if i lift it, I'm likely going to trash it. (not a bill I want just before Xmas).
Have tried a pot or two of sealer through the system, but I keep losing pressure.

Check simple things first like all the bleed valves on your rads are shut. There should be a system drain somewhere, check that the tap hasnt developed a dribble, as this can bleed the pressure away. There is no surefire way of finding the leak unless you have water somewhere it shouldnt be.

Check simple things first like all the bleed valves on your rads are shut. There should be a system drain somewhere, check that the tap hasnt developed a dribble, as this can bleed the pressure away. There is no surefire way of finding the leak unless you have water somewhere it shouldnt be.

Cheers chaps will look at this tom. A good curry and plenty of kingfisher cursing through my veins currently. Can't actually feel whether it's cold or not at the moment.

Try shutting the downstairs rads off one at once may help identify where it is.

Cheers gord...had read about the pressure vessel online. Got britishgas coming round on the 28th so may try and eek it out till then.

I had the same problem not that long ago with a faulty pressure valve - always best to check everything around the boiler first as faults are generally around there.

Interestingly I first had a problem of losing pressure (valve) then shortly after had a problem of too much pressure (faulty filling loop)!

Sounds very familiar to my prob.. Not losing pressure anymore so I'm thinking leak may not actually have been a leak. The prssure however goes up 1.5 to 2 bar from cold to hot. Everything i have read says its should only go up 1/4 to 1/2 bar. However, now also my pump whines and rumbles each time it clicks on and off.. Any ideas peeps?
