Will do, does the K&N filter make any difference? Seems to cost a fair bit more than the standard one?

The actual bit where the airfilter sits looked pretty clean actually, so I guess the filters doing its job. Is the one in the glovebox the pollen filter? That's actually been replaced quite a few times according to my receipts.........

K&N filter lasts forever though, you never need to replace it, just clean it and re-oil it every now and again (make sure your garage doesn't throw it away by mistake !).

It is also more free-flowing so I think helps fuel consumption slightly. Makes the engine note very slightly more "growly" at low revs (not louder though).

I think it's well worthwhile.

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !

There are claims a air filters will add x amount of horse power, in reality you will not notice much difference. You will probably just notuice a slightly different engine note.

The K & N filter is more expensive than a standard filter, but you should not have to replace as they can be cleaned, unlikey standard filters, so in the long term you will save money.

May get one and give it a go then, saves me having to clean my existing one too :p

How often would I need to clean it? If I cleaned just before each annual service would that do? That would prob prevent them throwing it away too if it looked clean Smile

I would clean my filter with every service.

I think the filter comes with stickers \ decals for the air box to state you have a performance filter and not to throw it away.

The link i gave you was the chepest on the net at time i bought one 3 yr ago - think is still the cheapest.

i clean mine by banging it agaist the wall then hovering it (the air filter that is), and it's still better than the OM one

i clean it out when i wash the car....which is not often Big Grin

DJ Wozza the question is:- OE for postage or K&N for retail or E-Bay........
Think I might still go for the K&N if it lets the engine breathe a little better........thanks for the offer though, was tempting Smile
