They are different I believe.

I thought that they were lower compression but used if going to turbo

I thought they were the same? Don't you get the lower compression by using the 1GGTE head?

Might well be the head but I think the it was the pistons and they can handle great boost because If you use standard internals then you can only run 0.4 boost safely

I am under the impression the benefit of the pistons and crank from the 1g-gte is that they are forged, where as the 1g-fe isn't?

Edit: grammar.

Ok if not to do with low compression then yeah I agree they are forged and beefier so can take more boost off a turbo surely the crank in 1gfe is forged meaning made from one piece

I still have a 1g-fe fully forged bottom end here that needs a good home would save you on the labour cost to have the bottom rebuilt as you can just drop it in

Drop me a pm if interested .....

Yeah but pricey mate I'm doing almost all myself I just need to know whether it's the 1g-gte pistons and con rods I need as I've got a 1g-fe engine that has done 15000 miles so all is well withit and I'm slowly building it back up in a long time span as funds are low only £500 a month to spend and works out as a gd project
