and here i find myself, japless, well sort of......

its a 1999 auto/tip merc C250 Esprit TD estate.

dose about 30mpg round town, makes a nice differance to the 10mpg im used to! lol

we only have one piccy of the beast....
and only a hand full of hours driving with it as well, we got the car early Dec 11..... and its spent the rest of its sodding time at the ****** garage boggling both mine and Robs brains as well as the garages as to why the fecking thing wont start!!!

So far we have looked into the fact that maybe it had no fuel.... petrol instead of diesel, air leak, air lock, blocked filters, knackered fuel pump, lifter pump and now to toss in the mix, maybe its the solionide that controlls the pump in the bay and its stuck closed! GAH!:yuck:
lucky for us its a wonderfull timing chain engine.... and the pump and gubbins just so happen to sit behind the chain, under all the plastic covering and what not.... only a 4 hour job to get to it....

it might get fixed oneday this year.... once it is i might change my mind about the damned thing and start to enjoy it.
it is or was meant to be our work horse, but for the time being we are back in the seat of my dads wonderful AMG merc Big Grin love the car, love the fact it can go sideways with ease (but wont do it as its not ours) but hate the running costs, its worse then the ****** legnums!

so for now here is the sleeping hearse

Hope it gets sorted though Mazz, horrible having to do stuff like this when you've no idea what actually is the problem

sorry guys, its all fixed now. didnt get a chance to get to the yard the other day but did so yesterday and have been abusing it to the hilts today Big Grin

its a bit smoky but im putting it down to being sat for a month. there is a little bit of air left in the system but i think after tonights fun with it Wink

after a fair amout of reserch it dose seem to be a fairly common problem with most of the diesel mercs, even new ones that roll out the showroom now.
also another problem is the ABS/BAS warning light on the dash, again this is another common problem with most modern mercs, a simple trip back to MB and part with roughly £15 for a new switch and all the problems go away.
merc know this is a problem, yet they still havent done anything about it!
well i guess its more pennies in there pocket. but seriously, if im buying a merc i dont want to be facing silly little problems like these, merc stands for (or for me at least) high quality, reliability and get the fook outta my way you inferrior car owner/driver! lol

besides all the fun and games we have had with this car to date, i still like it Smile and if my late grandad was still about he be pleased as punch iv gotten a durv merc Big Grin

i will get some pics in due course and post them up and formaly introduce you to "the Je rk".

bit more of an update, we have found out why it keeps breaking down....
the fuel gauge is a bit of the FUBR side, so we dont really know how much is in the tank.
hummmm all fun and games i guess.
after its last break down we had the RAC come out to see if they can get it started, they did Smile thats how we found out about the dicky gauge. anyway, after him fluffling about the bay and taking the boost pipe off to fire in a can of "start ya barstool" we thought he had put the pipe back on... well it deffo looked like he did, only to find out after a few days of driving that it wasnt boosting nor kicking down, oh ball we thought looks like the tubby has given up as well, just what we need Sad
so the hunt went on for a new tubby, it wasnt till two days ago when our good friend nickkie was visiting and we was talking cars and showing her round the beast that i noticed a LOT of black oil and gunk in places it should not of been, only to discover that the **** of a RAC bloke never tightened the clip back to boost pipe back up.
to say im spitting feathers is putting it mild.
all in all the car is now running as it should and we are still left with the BAS/ASR light as well as the non responcive throttle peddle, but we are putting that down to oil burnt oil in the auto/electric gear box, the car is on 157k miles and is due for its 4th change, we are hoping that the fresh oil will do the trick and we wont have the peddle problem. if ts still there after, im not sure what to look at next! as its baffling myself, rob and the guys on the MB forum. its like the engine isnt running, it dont rev up, you put your foot down and there is nothing, not a bean, it is proving to be a bit of a danger as this happens when rolling to a stop in traffic, but before you get to a stop you need to speed up again and this is when it happens, there is no warning befor hand either.
so fingers cross it is just the old oil! now im off to get some grubby pics of the car as we havent cleaned it since we got in back in dec, lol
