Nissan Almera GTi (N15)
They look great
Not much new to report in the way of mods, in fact I don't think I have done anything... just been maintaining it and keeping it clean I suppose!
But here are a few fresh pics, some from JAE whilst on the Almera Owners Club stand... Hoping to do a show with you guys this year!
Oh, and you might recognise this one!!!
Hahaha that's me.
Car still sounds and looks amazing Dan and to be honest its perfect the way it is there might be 1 or 2 little things you could do but all the major bits are sorted
Phil01 love the rotas on the almera, car looks good Dan

the car is looking awesome mate, really like that
The car is back on the Dyno tomorrow... for a bit of diagnostics, and all going well a Power Run at the end.
The car has developed a really high pitched whistle with wide open throttle. But only does it in motion, so I can't really pin point it when the car isn't moving. It sounds to me like some sort of air related problem, but difficult to say what as it doesnt feel any different or feel like I have lost power.
So its going on the rollers to have a proper look and listen whilst in motion.
But all going well, I can finally find out if my Tomei Cam's have made any difference, as its not been on the dyno since I have had them in.
Fingers crossed! I will report back tomorrow.
So, just got back from the Dyno...
They still had my old run (red line) on their system, which was: (THIS IS BEFORE THE TOMEI CAMS's)
158.1 BHP Flywheel
130.5 BHP Wheels
135 lbs/ft Torque
Today's run (Blue line) (WITH TOMEI CAM'S):
169 BHP Flywheel
140 BHP Wheels
154 lbs/ft Torque
Here is the graph:
So roughly 11BHP and 20lb's of Torque from the cam's...
As you can see from the graph that it's noticable right across the range. So I was very happy considering they are just 'drop in'.
SPEC AS IT WAS TODAY:
'Dyno-Dynamics' Dyno
101k Miles
V-Power
Tomei Poncam's
Toyosports manifold, to 2.5" system, with 200Cell Sports Cat
Apex'i Power Intake Filter with cold feed
Advanced ignition timining 17 Degrees
Note, that the spec was the same on the original run and on the exact same dyno, apart from the Cam's and less mileage.
So you can take this as a direct comparison of Standard Cam's VS Tomei Cam's.
Very happy to be honest and its good to see a direct comparison of the Tomei's against standards.
With regards to the annoying whistling sound, they said it looks to be the PCV valve/breather. I didn't ask them to do anything, but I will sort it eventually.
Happy Days
well happy for you Dan what a result from the Cams and we will continue to look for the source of the whistle but as said earlier i think its your cars way of saying she unique
