Just got a question for those in the know.

What's the difference between the celica 3sgte and the mr2 one?

Reason is the valve springs for my 1ggte are the same part number as the celica 3sgte but not the MR2 ones which seem to be different between inlet and outlet!

Please help

Toxo will know!! The MR2 did have several 3sgte versions they all will have had subtle and some not so subtle differences.

What age Celica do they match? I'd have thought the ST205 and the 94+ MR2 both had the green&brown valve spring layout. But the earlier ST185 probably wouldn't. There's fecking loads of differences but none are that important and don't really relate to the head.

Edit: I guess they are 90501-35006? This would match an 89-93 MR2 or an ST185 Celica which use the same springs inlet and exhaust. From what I remember the different coloured springs are actually the same anyway.

That will be why it's different - there was never an MR2 produced with that revision of the 3S-GTE. That Celica is an ST165 which predates the SW20 MR2 with the turbo engine.

St165 head is unique, Mr2 ones won't fit. Think the later valves are larger
