What are they like to drive? And long term how difficult would it be to change one over to manual?
Just seen a few around the 2k mark and they look in pretty good condition. Might be worth a punt.

Also, for the same money I could get a soarer either v8 or straight 6. Which is the better car and would you consider owning one over an is200?

Supra every day over IS200 - completely different cars. Take care with cheap ones they are all old cars now, get a good one and their as reliable as any other Toyota on the road.

The auto supra Purplewitch has is an animal, the acceleration that beauty can do is insane - for a cost though.

Go with an Aristo if you need back seats - Supras don't have any worth using.

the autobox on the supra is highly regarded as one of the best around of it's era, it's also pretty simple to change to manual however what box were you thinking about changing it to? Would you be looking at a na or TT auto?

I see a lot of autos and a few mans for sale on auto trader and places like that but don't think I could live with an auto, I prefer changing gear if they came with a triptronic box then maybe

A mate had a NA man and it was really nice to drive and for not having a turbo it could pull but agree the rear seats might as well not be there

The roof comes off the aerotop. Liftback is just the standard bodyshape. Aerotops are funny, in my opinion unless you like posing or pretending you're in the Fast and the Furious I'd give them a miss. It's a lot of extra money for a wobbly chassis, where the standard car is very stiff.

Tiptronic came in with the VVTi engine, 98 onwards, JDM only if my memory is working.

I was very wary of getting a supra with an auto box. But havin owned the car for nearly a year now im so glad i took the plunge. Its nothing short of brilliant and using the kickdown still makes me laugh as you hear everythin wind up. Defo do not be put off by an auto.

I just fancy something with a bit more power and personality. Lol! My is200 has let me down a few times recently, and I haven't like this one as much as I have liked my previous one.
I really don't like the idea of an auto box, but the only supra's in my price range are auto's.
We have three kids in the house, so are the extra seats ok for kids? Or is a soarer bigger in the back?
Would love an aristo, but they are too expensive. Been looking at gs300 or 430's too, but not sure at the min.
