If and when a turbo version is made I will be interested, why spend all that money on a rwd cat with 10th bhp more then a celica.

This car isn't about power though, it's about great balance and handling Smile

Not saying I want one (I want a V8) but I get what they were trying to do.

Their trying to appear "green" in line with the rest of their range.

i reckon 200bhp will be enough for most people to have fun with. of course there is nothing there an aftermarket turbo upgrade couldn't fix. word is the chasis can handle "a bit more" power, as to what "a bit more" is who knows.

i did notice that there is an iphone app available for it as well. which by the look of things is a digital dash. that and according to sources the can bus interface will be giving out loads of data for the enthusiast driver.

i've got my name down at the local toyota dealer to send me any info as soon as it becomes available and of course the test drive Smile

Have been following this for what feels like years now.

TRD price list is out, including an eye watering £7.2k brake upgrade: http://trdparts.jp/english/pdf/86PL_list.pdf

In-car vid, with the optional auto box. Sounds ace for a standard car: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKrh7wfwSvA

Toyota press release confirming OTR price: http://blog.toyota.co.uk/toyota-announce...-new-gt-86

Not saying I want one (I want a V8) but I get what they were trying to do.

I agree, and it's a big step for Toyota as well. This is the first driver orientated car they have done for a while. Let's hope they follow it up with a boxer powered four door saloon! Smile
Along with the new Honda Crz hybrid, these are the future of driving a car because it's good fun rather then building a car to tick boxes.
Another good thing about this car is Toyota and subaru are encouraging owners to customise them too. They have obviously seen the market for it is huge and want to cash in.
