Ok, I'm cracking on with this but I'm kinda stuck(ish) and could do with some more advise!

I'm using an Archos 70 tablet as shown here

I've managed to get the Torque app full working (and after a few emails I think the writer is updating to include a boot to app option) and also, the sygic navigation. I'm going to wire the power adapter to an ignition live (via a 5v converter) and set the screen to sleep after 15 seconds if there is no power so it's not live all the time, I'm also going to use a external bluetooth reciever as the tablet doesn't have one built in, again wired to ignition live.

My problem however is that the unit is near enough the same size as the oem flip up unit. I've had an idea that by using a dremel to basically cut the front off and just leave the top lip of the fascia on the flip up unit, therefore enabling me to slide the archos up from the bottom.

But how the ****** hell would you suggest fixing it in place so it doesn't fall back out from the bottom? I've though about some metal bracket of some kind (maybe thin aluminum) bonded to the back of the Archos, and a small nut and bolt through the side of the casing on the flip unit? I'm obviously going to strengthen the unit (oem) after hacking it about with the dremel!

Anyone have a better idea, or suggest what kind of glue to use to bond plastic to metal? I think I'm not too far off with this, the biggest hassle so far has been getting the software to work properly.

Also, if anyone knows the wires to use for power to the flip unit that would be handy, luckily I have the multiplug too.
