Mainly as I shoot in manual mode most of the time now, so it has greater control. Plus it has a bit better tech, faster shutter, and wireless commander control for off camera flashes.
I would love a D300s, or obviously full frame pro-body - but they are silly money. The D90 offered exactly what I needed for a reasonable cost.

It is indeed a handy bonus having built in auto focus
The 105mm is for macro. It's a true 1:1 lens, and the image quality on it is freaking amazing. Worth every penny. It's also good for street shots - though you do have to be taking pics of things at a reasonable distance :laugh:
