N15_GTi Such a great thread! And what a beauty you have produced! The commitment to turning a cheap rust bucket into this fine piece of work is second to none. Great job dude!

Just did an oil and oil filter swap after her first 900 miles since the second rebuild, she has been worked hard. Last week we went to london and back then wales and back twice! With no issues whatsoever, and pretty soon she may be taking me to pick up a 1UZ-FE engine!
1uz! Sounds exciting.
Cheers! Yeh these are so **** rare now, which makes me all that much prouder to say mine's cleaner than an OCD ridden cat.
And now for some bigger, better, more exciting updates!
Having gotten to grips with the way she handles on standard suspension - bar poly'd ARB's I have now decided exactly what needs doing, and so here is what is on its way to me now:
*40mm PI Springs
*Coil Spring Compressor - I'm fitting the springs myself, and I do a lot of work for mates to earn a little cash so this is a must.
*TRD Number Plate Bolts
*2X 5mm Spacers
The springs are about 30% stiffer so the ad says, but the drop is important and could be too much - I have measured my clearances to the ground and the angles of my Lower Arms at the front, and 40mm could do the job just right - however I am going to monitor it to make sure the arms remain parallel with the ground.
The plate bolts are for looks - I've been doing all sorts of small tweaks and I'm loving it.
5mm Spacers are for the rear wheels, she needs a slightly wider track for a meaner stance but also to help bring out the Calibre's a little more to the bodywork, rather than simply being hidden within the arches.
And as if that wasn't enough, I'm swapping both front shocks and all the Bushes for my Poly kit while I'm at it! Oh and the ding in the wing is getting taken out when the brakes get re-bled!
