IS200 problems already...
I purchased my 2000 W Lexus IS200 Sport last weekend. The car has been running fine. However, last night I used the keyfob to open the doors on the car. Absolutely nothing, no response. I used the 2 spare keys and again nothing. The red lights on the fob come on but I am unable to open the doors.
I changed the battery on one of my fobs but again no luck, simply cant open it.
I opened the drivers door manually with the key and the alarm goes off for about 20 seconds then stops. Can anyone shed any light on this and what I need to do to get the car open without the alarm screaming.
Thanks
Stuart
could be that the keys have been forgotten by the car or that the signal was blocked.
have you tried driving somewhere else and seeing if they work?
if not you'll have to reprogram the keys, there is a guide on the forum to do that though
put the key in the ignition and turn it on, the alarm should turn off then
That's very odd, is the battery ok?
Iv had the car for a week, no problems until Friday evening. Parked it up about 6pm, went to go out in it as 7pm, couldnt get in it and the fob just wouldnt open the thing up..
Battery seems fine. I can get in the car opening it manually but as I said the alarm goes off until I close the door and then it stops after a while..
Autoelectrician maybe?
try disconecting the battery and reset all the ecu's on the car try all the simple things first also check all the fuses
It's odd the door closing stops the alarm though. Really is stumping me sorry
