Electric Window fault???
Electric Window fault???
OK so my passenger window has decided to stop working?
I have done the following:
Checked fuse (lol)
Removed switch assy. and cleaned.
Removed door card and checked all cables are in place.
No faults found.
Connected a live and earth feed direct to the window motor and it works just fine all the way up and down.
Traced wires back to switch and applied a 12v feed to the switched live and neutral (checking the entire circuit past the switch) and window works just fine.
So any normal person would assume the switch assy. is faulty - right??????
Changed switch assy. for a 2nd hand one and......................... same fault. Passenger window doesn't work - drivers one and locks work just fine. Locks are on the same switch assy. for those that don't know!!
So what next? Wires are 100%, motor works up and down, switch has been swapped.
Is it possible the window regulator is faulty showing a high resistance so the car is in some sort of fail safe????????????

Ok so if you bypass the switch and use the 12v that goes into it does it function the reason I ask is 12v may be present but not enough current to operate the window via the input cable....
No wiring diagram...... looking for one at the moment.

No wiring diagram...... looking for one at the moment.

Same as holding the glass down the switch won't work
Does the motor judder ?
With a DMM does it show 12v at the motor when u operate the switch ?
Hmm seems very odd then sounds like the system is feeling there is a resistance on the window motor and as such Wong go up or down

I will check motor voltage tomorrow - I should have done that already lol.

Then looked at the switch Jomo above has pictured to find it no longer works and is stuck in the lock position - it just won't move looks like this is the fault lol. New switch on order from scrapjap.co.uk.
