Lexus Android and Grom Adapter for sale (separately!)
Lexus Android and Grom Adapter for sale (separately!)
Many will have read the various threads where I was building a Android system in the IS Sat Nav housing.
I built this with the sole intention of running Torque on it, which it will do, but won't save the bluetooth settings for the Elm adapter due to the way I need to turn the system off (it goes off with the ignition, and basically force stops it)
It will save the settings just fine for Dash Command and works perfectly with Co Pilot. There are of course, thousands of other apps you can run with Android, but like i say I built this for Torque and can't figure it out to save the settings for it, which means for me I have to connect it manually everytime. It will save which PID's (displays) you want.
A lot of work went in to this, and i will include everything you need to get it in, housing, tablet (now built in), buttons, voltage converter, and timer relay board to get the systems turned on, there's also a separate board for the power which consists of a few capacitors and blocking diodes so the unit doesn't turn off during start up of the engine. Sounds a lot, but to be honest it's just 5 or 6 wires to get it in.
I've tried to be as honest as possible with this and will answer any questions I can regarding it. If I'm being honest, some of the installation wiring to the car could do with tiding up, multi plug or something.
The tablet is a Witstech A81E, which comes with GPS built in.
This stands me in loads, I want £200 please, posted. (not bad when you consider you can pay that for a sat nav housing in some places!)

I also have in a separate sale a Grom Adapter which i bought from a forum member on here with USB lead and Iphone adapter. You know what these do, £60 posted please.
So the tablet is forgetting the bluetooth adapter just because you are cutting power without shutting it down?
Cheers jomo, it's not really a case of 'having' to sell, i've just gone a different route now.
Parthiban, it's not the tablet forgetting the bluetooth, it's torque. And as I primarily built for torque.........
Rabster has suggested another way of mimicking the off sequence as is done on a car pc, but to be honest, it's out of the car ready to go now............
(sorry about late replies, was at work last night)
Deposit taken on the Sat Nav/Android - Thank you!
Grom still available, anyone?
