ok so running a 800 belt like i had before, got new belt after day of driving started making noise looked and had done this, so refit old belt after 5min of driving it did this! so before i refurbed was fine never did this but, affter refurbing and securing the bracket bit better noticed when i went to put the old belt on especially, that i could push the tensioner to its max before had about 2mm on left side of the bolt now non and seem when runing to be slack! on the long side i and twist the belt 180 and there is like 5-10mm bounch in the belt.

so what i want to know is, is my charger fine and will a smaller belt help 790? as i notice most of you seem to be running that anyway, but dose the belt being slack explain why it ripped? as already gone through 2 belts in 2 days dont want it to do same on the smaller belts!

I looked as it was running pully looks fine no movement noticed cuz i cut the ripped bit of a belt just to run it 4pk noticed put it in normal position as if it was a 5pk and ran it when it ran over 4-5k engine rpm it jumped forward.

just want it to be easy fix, so many things just going wrong at the min Sad

i would think its to do with being slack and its slapping against itself or the pulley.

i would try the smaller belt and see what happens with it then.

just to point out i dont have a charger but as said i think it may be slack

Could have been a faulty belt the new one, and the old one just old and stretched?

ok i think my new bit of bracket has lifted the charger at the back making the belts slack, put washers on front of charger to lift it up n bring it back aligned and the 800 belt is tight like before! so will see how it goes.
