Would anyone happen to know the reason I hear a faint low hum when I'm on the accelerator, it's more noticeable when softly pressed, but only in 6th gear?

That just made me giggle like a girl, not so cool when am in the pub.

I'm going to put it down to being a feature of the car

Don't think so stix, it really is only in 6th gear, as I've listened as closely as poss in all the gear ranges and it's only happening in 6th noticed more on the motorway which is all the car is seeing at the moment

Changed the diff oil at all? Could be a sign its losing its viscioty or however its spelt. Having said that altezzas can be known to do what your describing if 6th isn't used often

I haven't but I do suspect it's not been used much because it's only had one owner for 10 years and the mots show it only did 6k per year in between each one. Reckon it's worth changing the oil in the gearbox then?
