My Check Engine/vsc Lights Are On, Placed On Computer To Test, & It Says "Heated Oxygen Sensor"...
However, there are three (3) Oxygen sensors & the computer won't say which one?!?!? Any suggestions, other than having to pay a shop to check all three? My concern is also whether this is the true malfunction (with VSC light on) or possibly another part, since light comes on for multiple issues...

What is the fault code as they all go to specific sensors? Also you'll find you have four sensors on an sc430

Once you have the code, this should help:

Thanks for the quick response. I went to Auto Zone & Advance Auto Parts to have them test with their computer. They both came up with Heated Oxygen Sensor - but didn't appear to have a specific code differentiating which sensor was bad? It gave the sensor to replace as #17533 (I think), but that was the same # for whether it was the "upstream" or "downstream" sensor, with I believe the downstream needing two (2) sensors replaced... Anyway a layman can determine whether upstream or down sensors?

The computer should've given you a code somewhere between P0130 and P0167 to indicate which sensor it is (and more details on what the fault is).

I'm in So Florida, but thanks for the offer. I'm going back to Auto Zone & have them re-do the test to see if it illustrates the P0130-0167. I hope so!

Lol that would be a bit of a trek. Might be worth printing that PDF and taking it with you?

Turned out it was code P031, which they've determined it's Bank 1, Sensor 1... They recommend I replace both the upstream sensors, saying if one goes, the 2nd is apt to be right behind it. Are they step-selling me to buy another sensor (of course the 2nd one is a more expensive side), or do you recommend replacing both at the same time?
I'm assuming Bank 1 would be the driver's side sensor?
Thanks for the advice!
