De-cat EML fix p0420,etc fix
De-cat EML fix p0420,etc fix
Hi
though i would just let everyone know as i know some others have this problem.
So if any one has fitted a de-catted manifold or main decat, if you have been getting the p0420 error code and have tried adapters, simulators etc and still getting EML then this fix could help.
So after hours/days of research i found a cheap fix for getting rid of the EML code you get from de-catting.
Anyway all the fix is to wire a 1.2k ohm resistor in series on the signal wire (the one that send a voltage to the Ecu) on the post cat sensor the(main cat O2 sensor), on the Denso sensors it is the blue wire, on others with other colours its usually black wire, but check.
Anyway all you need to do is cut and solder the resistor on the signal wire and wipe the error code and its fixed! 26p well spent.
All it does is sends a lower signal to ecu, which is what it would do if there was a Cat there. if it sends to low or high as signal try a bigger or smaller rated resistor.
I found this on various Nissan, and Subaru forums, So i
am not taking credit just passing on the knowledge.
hope this helps others out as i had been trying to sort mine for weeks!
Worthy of a rep button press I think!!
yeah defo works had it fixed for about a week now, where the light used to come on every 10miles ive done now about 200 so working fine.
