Greddy E-manage Ultimate Install.

If ive forgotten anything please let me know and ill add it.

First off a very big thank you to Stav; literally could not have done it without him. Thank you to Dimis too for the info in his build.

I recommend you DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT, attempt this yourself unless you are very confident about your ability to complete the job and even then I’d still recommend you get an auto-electrician to fit it, if you can afford it, because it will be SOOO much easier!

You will need:

Greddy Emanage Ultimate unit.
Greddy Emanage Ultimate Harness - universal or from another piston engine.
3BAR MAP Sensor
Weird 5 point torx bit
10mm spanner/socket
Phillips Screwdriver
Wire Cutters
Wire Strippers
Crimp tool
Soldering iron and solder OR crimp connectors (I recommend soldering)
Shrink Wrap (if soldering)
LOTS of Electrical tape
Stanley Knife
Spare time

LOTS AND LOTS of patience!!

First thing I did was the loom however I recommend you set/check the jumper settings.



Jumpers

To do this remove the 4 Allen bolts that hold the rear cover on, then remove the two Phillip screws on the bottom of the unit. Then carefully slide the circuit board out on the unit and set the jumpers to the following settings:

Jumper 1 - open - adds and removes fuel
Jumper 2 - open - adds and removes fuel
Jumper 3 - open - adds and removes fuel
Jumper 4 - open - adds and removes fuel
Jumper 5 - open - adds and removes fuel
Jumper 6 - open - adds and removes fuel
Jumper 7 - 1-2 - Normal
Jumper 8 - 2-3 - 12V ignitions
Jumper 9 - open - does nothing (mazda hotwire)
Jumper 10 - open - does nothing (GT-R RB26DETT)
Jumper 11 - open - nothing
Jumper 12 - open - nothing
Jumper 13 - open - "normal knock sensor"
Jumper 14 - open - "normal knock sensor"
Jumper 15 - 1-2 - "normal RPM"
Jumper 16 - open - does nothing (karman in not used)
Jumper 17 - 1-2 - does nothing (karman out not used)
Jumper 18 - open - adds and removes fuel
Jumper 19 - 1-2 - I/J, Sub I/J, NVCS, Relay(-)
Jumper 20 - 1-2 - I/J, Sub I/J, NVCS, Relay(-)


Loom

I had a 1.5m Plug-N-Play loom from an R33 Nissan Skyline so I had to cut off the Plug-N-Play end off which left this:

I then removed the plastic sheath and removed all the tape holding the loom together and separated the into its three component parts:

(This is after I extended the loom but you get the idea)

I then realised that the loom would be too short for the route I wanted it to take in the engine bay so I started to extend the loom by hand as I didn't have the money to buy the 2.5m harness from Greddy. I cut the loom in the middle so that the wires would still be colour coded at each end of the harness which helps later with wiring/identification.

1 wire down:

Once I had finished extending the three sub-looms I started to wrap them in tape and roughly equal intervals:

I then put the three looms together and started wrapping it with electrical tape; I did this because I wanted the loom to be quite rigid as well as protection. I didn't use the original plastic sheath, you can if you want to/can get it back on.

Now that the loom was finished I started to label the wires at the engine/standard ECU end of the loom:

I then ran the loom through the rubber grommet in the fire wall that goes from the passenger footwell to behind the battery, I then put the loom underneath the standard loom that runs down the right hand side of the engine bay.

Once the loom was ran down to the ECU case I cut a hole in the rubber grommet in the bottom of the ECU case and I removed unused 'tabs' on the connector holder to make room for the loom.


Wiring into standard ECU

I removed the ECU anti-tamper cover and unplugged the ECU and put it somewhere safe.

I then started to pull out the wires that I need to just "host" onto and soldered the appropriate Greddy wire to its host.

Once they were finished and I was happy with the placement/routing of the wires I started on the Ignition sub-harness. I did this by identifying the appropriate wire, cutting it and then matching the required Greddy wires to each "end" and soldering them and then shrink wrapped

TIP: When the Greddy diagram says IGN CH1 it means the cylinder that fires first not necessarily cylinder 1. Basically the IGN harness needs to be wired in firing order not number order.

The Lexus IS200 1GFE firing order is 153624.

So the Greddy ‘Channels’ need to be wired up like this:

Engine Cylinder: 153624
Greddy Channel: 123456

Once I had finished the 12 ignition Cut-Connections I started on the Injection wires. I did this by identifying the appropriate wire, cutting it and then matching the required Greddy wires to each "end" and soldering them and then shrink wrapping.

Now that all of the connections are completed I recommend double and triple checking them.

I then plugged the STD ECU back into the loom, refitted the cover and put the lid back on the case.

I then ran the Greddy EMU side of the loom behind the dashboard and connected it to the EMU in my glove box.

Connect the EMU to the loom, plug in your laptop with the Greddy EMU Software on it and turn the key to ACC and wait for the EMU to connect to the laptop. Once it has connected and is ready stream live data start the car and see how it runs. If any wires are connected incorrectly the EMU should tell you (like it did when I wired my IGN harness wrong)

MAP Sensor

The way I did my MAP Sensor was to run a 1M length of silicone hose to a T piece I had already connected to the vacuum pipe on the throttle body.

I then used a hose clamp to clamp the actual sensor to a dashboard support bracket behind the glove box.(you can see the map sensor in the "behind the glove box" picture above)

Loom

Tbh I genuinely thought I had done enough reading, I'd read through the fitting instructions 2 or 3 times and I'd read through a couple of fitting guides for other cars so I thought I knew what I was doing!

Hence my don't do it yourself bit at the beginning! If I knew it was going to be as much of a pain as it was I'd of paid an auto electrician!

Hence my don't do it yourself bit at the beginning! If I knew it was going to be as much of a pain as it was I'd of paid an auto electrician!
