5PK790 Belt
5PK790 Belt
I went out tonight after work to get my new belt fitted for the supercharger.
One question...
I removed the tensioner bolt and fitted the belt but could not get the tensioner back in place to get the bolt back in. Now I believe it was a lack of proper tools for the job as I could not get proper leverage to get the tensioner across to get the bolt back in.
What is the best thing for getting the tensioner moved? I was thinking a pry bar or a small crowbar would do the job but thought it best to ask those who have been there and done that so any help would be much appreciated.:thumbup1:
exactly as you suggest mate a pry bar will do nicely
Thanks for your help mate, got the belt fitted today and it is indeed a good tight fit but I got myself a crowbar set from B&Q (three for a tenner ) and the middle one was just the ticket for getting proper leverage on the tensioner.
Here's one golden tip for anyone trying this job on their own: Get a set of vice grips and clamp the tensioner to the lug that it pivots on so that it stays in place when you apply leverage. You can get the grips in at an angle between the intercooler pipe and the compressor pulley. This makes the job a complete doddle!
Thanks again Outlaws for all your help!
