Ok so i have had the car over a year now and went to get the aircon checked and re gassed as it wasnt very cold

anyway they regassed the system however the temperature wouldnt drop to a low cold

Any ideas as to what it could be or where to start looking for a fault car was garaged for half the year every year by the previous owner....

I thought as part of the regass they put in UV dye so that inthe event of it not performing as well after, its easy to spot where the leak is?

(thats what was done with my aircon service recently), pressure tested, old refrigerant out, etc etc.

First port of call would be back to the outfit that did the regass..

Possible the expansion valve that controls the expansion of gas when it changes state from a high pressure liquid into a low pressure gas

1990 Eunos Roadster in Mariner DU blue
Cobalt cat back, Decat pipe, 15in Red Rota GT3 alloys, Toyo tyres, Lowered on Coil overs, Red anti roll bars, 14degree timing mod, white dash kit, illuminated side marker lights,
Halo ring headlights, OEM windblocker, Bluetooth streaming HU, Blue leather handbrake and gear lever gaitor, Centre brake/tail light mod, Blue velour door cards, Polished cam cover, Polished front strut bar, 4xheadrest speakers, JDM floor mats, Suede semi dish steering wheel,

Could be all sorts. Pressure sensor for the aircon gas (you can test that by unplugging it and bridging 2 pins), outside temperature sensor, the aircon pump will have an electric clutch, so there's the circuitry for that.

it appears that the air con is working but simply can not produce ice cold air, so I am guessing that rules out the magnetic clutch because that is a simple on/off.
The pressure sensor is also an on/off operation but rabs can feel some cooling effect so that could prove those two items are working

Going deeper now it could be even the thermistor that is freezing up and switching off the magnetic clutch prematurely, this could be caused by something simple as too much refrigerant in the system.

I am guessing that the 350Z should have some sort of on-board diagnostics for A/C operation,

Have you changed your stereo/cd player recently and do all of your dials/speedo work OK?

HI Guys ok so i have a garage that i trust looking at the car they have had an aircon specialist out to investigate the problem and his finding are as follows

Compressor seems fine clutch is activating but there is no live at the compressor, apparently there could be a release valve that is stuck and thus not allowing the current to get through ?

i had the Rad fans changed last year due to them failing is there a connector that could have been missed when fitting these etc

the local nissan dealership which the garage know quiet well have said (it could be anything best send it down for us to look at) not really up for that as they will charge a fortune yes ok it will get the thing fixed but if its something simple there not gonna let me know its something simple and still charge me a fortune

so looking for a bit more input from you guys can anyone offer advice ?

Do they mean the high pressure valve that sits in the H pipe to check for gas pressure, so the compressor doesn't kick in if there's no gas?

not entirely sure he said it was a pressure valve that he thinks would be located behind the bumper....

That sounds right. You can test it by removing the connector and shorting out the 2 thicker wires that go into it, as long as you know there's gas in there.
