They should be easy to fit remember if they don't work swap the connector around on the ballast input as some units are configured backwards Smile

All fitted. Took probably half an hour, and 20 mins of that was figuring out where to mount the ballasts and route the cables! As per everyone else's, it seems, I had to reverse one of the plugs - which is a little annoying as the clip to hold the connector on is on the side without the notch now. Hopefully it will all stay water tight...

How safe is the engine bay from water? Just always wary of new connections, and these aren't OEM quality, so a little unsure of how water tight they are going to be...

They are generally very good, though a bit of tape around them to keep them together won't hurt.

Well, **** - they're pretty bright! Bit more blue than I thought they'd be / had hoped for. Maybe I should have gone 4500 instead of 5000.

Course, no sooner had I turned out onto the main road, the second car coming towards me was flashing me. So I set the beam angle on 2.5 to lower them a little, hopefully it won't blind everyone now

But I see what is meant when you say you barely use high beam anymore! Country lanes were nicely lit! Would be nice to have colour matched fogs now, but don't really want to put another HID set in. Maybe an SMD/LED pair would be a good match? Like these?

They say 5000-5500, so not sure?

just to check, should I want to change to a different colour temp (for example, 4300k or 4500) can I just plug in different bulbs, like these;

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/High-quanlity-...4ab2ed00ce

Using the existing ballasts I've fitted, or do I need a completely new kit with new ballasts?

Matt, I've these in my fogs and they are proper white! Cheap as chips too!!

Get some 501 LED's for the rear numberplate while you're there. Makes a brave difference to the back end.

Thanks for the links. Gonna hold off on the other bulbs for the time being, as I'm not 100% sure I'll be keeping or changing the HID bulbs yet.

I was gonna do the numberplate bulbs a couple weeks ago, since I noticed one was out. But a pair of regular bulbs was only 46p, thanks to Halfords trade card, and then found out it's such a faff to change them (and I lost a nut inside the boot lid!!!) that I'm not changing them again till I have to!!!!! lol

Even if you don't keep them and you just put a blue/whiter bulb in there the LED/SMD 501 side light bulbs will look a lot better.

Have a look in the last few pages of my thread you will see all my front lights on and I have HIDs in my dipped beam and just replaced all the other bulbs to look the same
