I'm convinced the "5000k" bulbs I have are either 6000k, or something is wrong with them, because they are definitely blue-tinged, and not white. They remind me of LED torches.
I'm also not sure they are even throwing enough light, at least not in the right places. I've been flashed a couple times, presumably by people thinking I've got my high beams on. I've noticed this is when I have the angle adjuster switch inside set under 2 (ie, 0-2). I'm also not sure if they are even as bright as they were, but maybe that's me getting used to them. Last night, on the same drive home I do nearly every week, I found myself flicking the high beams on along the country roads - whereas a couple weeks ago, I was happy just with the dipped HID beams.
So I might try another set of bulbs. My problem is, do I go for another set of 5000k bulbs, hoping that I get a flat white colour, or go for 4300k, but I don't want a yellowish tinge either. The trouble is, all the sellers claim different things for different numbers!
I was thinking about these ones - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271041593443?s...1423.l2649, and according to the picture on that listing (below), I want the 5000k ones. Yet the ones I have look like 6000k, almost in between 6000k and 8000k (more like 6 to look at the headlights, but closer to 8 looking at the beam colour on the road surface)

Where I'd actually want the 6000k, as the 5000k looks like it's a bit yellow tinged (and mine look more like 8000k)

So I fitted that cheapo HID kit from HK a couple weeks ago, but I'm not sure about it. I went for 5000k bulbs because I wanted a nice, pure white, with no blue - I don't want the LED/neon look, but more the Audi/Merc/Beemer pure white look.

i have 4300k in mine and they look very similar to urs.
you may also get people flashing you as there is no cut off on after market HID kits but ive had mine fitted for a few months and dont seem to get any complaints
maybe try the 6ks as there not to far off what you have and alot of people use that bulb in theres on here

they dont look blue in those pics but they also dont look very high along the ground there also

well then your best bet is to go standardish bulbs which are the 4300k have a look at my pics and you may see what your looking for they are more white then blue and have no yellow at all

09-09-2019, 11:22 AM #6You will also find that the colour fades over time, I bought 6000K a year ago which were quite visibly blue when you looked at them. But now they are much whiter, and when it comes time to replace them I think I'll be going for 5000K

These (see vid link) are the colour I want (when they warm up). Mine aren't as blue as these when he first switches them on, but when his warm up, they are whiter than mine. they also look like they have more spread/projection

I've been speaking to a uk seller, who has the 2nd colour chart I posted, about it - showed him my pics and he reckons mine are more like 8k, so I've ordered a set of 5k's from him, which he assures are brilliant white, not blue. So when they arrive I'll bung em in and see what the difference is!

The higher the k value, the less bright, so if yours are mistakenly the wrong temp and are higher than you ordered then they could easily not light up the road as well as the bulbs you had before.
People are flashing you because you're using HID bulbs in light clusters that are not designed for them, so you're scattering light all over the place. Best get used to it...
