Visited the exhaust garage today. Booked for next Friday to change all the exhaust pipe after the downpipe up to the HKS backbox. All the section from the downpipe up to the barrel of the HKS will be one piece and the pipe diameter will be 60mm. OEM is 54mm. All necessary corners will be curved 60mm pipes welded on the straight pipes in order to have the same diameter all the way. I was going to fit 63mm but we decided to go for 60mm since the HKS back box has 60mm pipe and I did not want to change it.
Yesterday I installed the new uprated engine mounts. Fitment was easy. The OEM engine mounts were not damaged although I thought that they might have been warn after so many years and especially the last two with the last supercharger upgrade. So first conclusion is that OEM engine mounts can handle safely 250bhp. Now regarding the new engine mounts, after fitment and driving home I noticed that the during aggresive gear changing there are no kich from the engine transferred in the cabin. I could fill this kick many times with the OEM mounts and this gave the impression that the mounts were damaged. The cons from the uprated engine mount is at engine idle. A very small vibration is transferred to the cabin. This is due to the harder rubber of the new mounts.
A couple of pictures of the Denso injectors. These injectors have 12 holes and not 4 like others do, which provides superior atomization and improved engine efficiency according to Denso.
Also I uploaded a couple of pics of the belts I purchased for the 160mm pulley for anyone who wants to know the size.
I got the car back from the exhaust garage. I took also some pictures before it was lowered from the uplifter. First impression is that the noise is a bit different. Not so tin noise like before, but more aggressive. I have not tried to see if there is improvement in performance since there was heavy traffic jam on the route to home.
Looks a nice job mate!
