Alternator
Alternator
Hi guys , my brother has a sportcross with a system which i think is just too heavy (deafening) for the car. He has fitted various capacitors etc, But the fuses keep blowing. He now wants to fit a different alternator (more amperage) so he can charge another battery in the boot is this possible? can he he not just use the same alternator to charge both batteries?
Caps can cause extra unnecessary strain on an electrical system - they are not for compensating for a low amp alternator. Has he tried running the system without these fitted?

Thank you guys for the response. I'll let you know how he got on..
FirebirdPhil Caps are generally a waste of time, unless you like shiny things? - proper electrical charging is by FAR the most important part of your whole audio system.

I use one of these for my second battery:

switches on when the voltage gets to about 13.5v
