I my self am looking for a 1JZ from a Soarer and will most likely mat it to a MKIII Supra 5 or 6 speed manual, need to save and for it though been missing out on some seriously good deals as well, but like so many times before it will happen when its meant to.

06-02-2020, 06:05 AM #22the MKIII manual will need a remote shift extender to fit in the IS200. If you want a 6 speed, it will be cheaper to get a 350/370z transmission and adaptor plate, as V160's are ridiculously expensive.

Thanks for the info Bandido, but wasn't there a gearbox from one of the non- turboed MKIII's with a designation in the 150's, cant remember what exactly but i'm sure i read about it on a different website somewhere, also the Nissan Box does that fit straight in without any further mods then the adapterplate? and if yes where do i get these adapterplates from?

Your best bet would be to try and get your 1J from a front-cut JZX90 or JZX100 Chaser. They have the right gearbox (remote-shift R154) and you'd get gearbox, engine + ECU all as one lump. Don't bother with a Soarer one - it will be difficult to find the gearbox on its own. I have a remote-shift R154 and that's where I got mine from.
