After hearing different ideas maybe leaving from Dover at 6.00 am on a Thursday would work best.
Moley what hotel did you stay in at the ring and how much was it.

People that dont want to continue to the alps can either return home or extend the stay at the ring.

However if you can afford the trip to the Alps you will not regret it.

I mention the trip in July in Switzerland is very hot that time of year but as your really high in the mountains with snow on the higher peaks it can be a bit chilly.

Supergoose know the area well and will look after all the routes and hotel bookings.

So maybe we should say what each of us wants in this break.
Ring
Ring and Alps

I will do the ring and Alps.

As for cost remember that it better to go with two or more per car.

Hotel near the ring: http://www.nurburgring.org.uk/where_to_stay.html
Hotel in Switzerland http://www.ibishotel.com/gb/hotel-2981-i...ndex.shtml

Chris are you saying 10 tanks of fuel is what your need for 800 miles each way.
If you get another person with you your only need five tanks.

Most room rates abroad are for the room not person but please check.

Gord this will be a great trip but i worried that if we put it over to long a period we may loose out as the cost will creep up if we are doing it up to five to seven days.
Remember that everyone can extend there break at the end of the trip.
I think two days max at the ring and two days max in Switzerland should be ample for the trip, with the option of members stay longer if they want to make a longer break out of it.
Members could extend there stay in Switzerland and drive back to the Ring for some extra laps if this fits into there budget.

If the travel is book early enough then you get a much better rate.
How long did it take to get to the ring once you got to the other side.

Bobby we will keep you in mind on this trip but we need it to be on the site for another two to three weeks then we can see how many people may be interested.
Once we know who is interested then we can work on date's of the trip.
