Hi guys, long time no speak. Hope you are all well :-)

Does anybody in the trade know whether the goop that the recovery services use to fill a puncture, prevents the the tyre from being properly plugged at a later date?

I managed to push a rather large bolt into the middle of a brand new, £300 tyre last night :'(

I know the big can of squirty goop does for sure, but the RAC guy used a little pot of what looked like glue and just injected a tiny amount into the hole. If he has written off the tyre I won't be best pleased as he didn't give me any warning :-(

i was told that the goop can be removed but the chemical required is very expensive, budget tyre price range! once the tyre weld type stuff is applied the tyre cant be repaired without having it chemically removed. i wont use the stuff at all

Only sealant that is washable with water and approved by tyre shops for repair is "Slime" bright green coloured.
