well now. its been a short time, the last place i left this at was the delivery of some goodies.

Well lets say a bit more has taken place since. at first some shunting of cars was done around the yard on a small effort to tidy up the place.
so the car was left like this...
[Image: 954817_255503027925374_790424034_n_zpscc7e5417.jpg]

a couple of weeks when by before anything was done to the car.

now... lets see, its bank Holiday and the sun is shining. what better way to spend it by going up to the yard to work on the car and having a picnic at the same time!

so, let the work commence!

first off we pushed the car from its last resting place to the middle of the yard on some form of hard standing area.

now this was done, time to strip off the front end
[Image: 431107_255502957925381_1898308315_n_zps13c72e87.jpg]

Tidy up that pipe by wiring brushing it down and a quick coat of black paint. i got a bit carried away and sprayed a bit of that rancid green. i felt much better after that

once this was done, we put on some wings.
ok a bit crusty but that dont matter at this point in time as the car is being booked in to a body shop in the next few months.
[Image: 581720_255502937925383_424055633_n_zpscd055bc8.jpg]

the eagle eyed among you will spot i have some rather sporting GXi badges. im thinking of keeping these for shits n giggles.
once this had bee done, i slung on the clear side repeaters.

then i got to cracking on with the bonnet lifters
[Image: 382676_256333487842328_1786673672_n_zps34b185e4.jpg]

moving next to the rear of the car
[Image: 580967_256459344496409_1675008033_n_zps08ce2b11.jpg]

in place is a post ford 3rd brake light. i much like this as apposed to the blank ones.

after this was done it was time to put on the wing mirrors and then front of the car back together, fog lights included, although im going to need to retro fit a plug inside the car.
[Image: 400844_256459377829739_1012089184_n_zps7d0897e5.jpg]

also had a bit of help from Andy on this as we wasnt doing it right according to him
[Image: 600675_256459527829724_245141803_n_zpsc7113a7b.jpg]

once all the basics of on the out side was done, it was time to crack on with the insides.

first off the carpet had to come out and the floor dried as it was a bit of a swimming pool.

[Image: 923013_255502914592052_127622266_n_zps4ef32eee.jpg]

once this was done, the carpet went back in (from the other green mazda as it was in better condition and not soaking)
once this had gone in the seats soon found them selfs being bolted into place along with the speakers, chrome handles, chrome lantis door sills and widow switch/mirror switch.

[Image: 294946_255502881258722_169605472_n_zpsa2f141dc.jpg]

[Image: 988609_256459457829731_1925073212_n_zpsa9d8862a.jpg]

once this was in place i tested out the windows.... nothing! ******! ok what could be causing this? all the wires checked out fine as did all the fuses. so next up is the switch it self?! cant try this on another car as i dont have another to try this on. hummm so im still stuck with no working windows.

i then pluged in the head unit to see if the speakers work, and all bar the rear passgener. its fine, after all they are only the stock speakers but its something for now till i do the audio upgrade.

now the insides of the car are complete, and im loving the boot plastics as i got them lil things for the rear strut brace so no hacking away at the plastics for me! Big Grin

next on the list is the exhaust. in the end we dropped the rear sub frame to get it in and that was a task an a half on its own!
but alas it was finally put in place. the front headders and down pipe was also fun and games and a very tight fit. but with brute force and ignorance the battle was won.

What made us chuckle and not leaving out the trdition of the use of a 1p....

[Image: 200136_256333454508998_521555965_n_zpsd8a507fd.jpg]

its there to blank off the EGR hole as this engine dosnt have it.

old V new parts

and at long last them lush dials i was given, that once lived in NES now has its new home in my lantis Smile
im still loving them like no tomorrow Smile

they looks so perfect.

well this was the fun iv had over the weekend, the car is 99% ready to hit the road now. all i need to do now is service it, replace ball joints, track rod ends, drop links and rocker cover gaskets as the ones on it now are leaking, and due to fitting the new exhaust what better time to do this while the inlet is off!
im just waiting on the parts to arrive so i can crack on with this little taskt, then for a short time the car will either rock a set of legnum alloys or the set i have on my super.

my aim is to try and get this car done an dusted in time for the weekend.
not much to do, just weather permitting now.

so from a car that was originally got as a scrapper is almost back to its former glory.
once this is done, then the real work can start on putting my touches on it. 8)

Cry

They have arrested a kiddy that was caught coming out of the yard by the police and he's denying everything even to the point that he wasn't even in the yard?!

I will make him pay for this.

The coppers will be out tomorrow to have a good look and see if they can get any prints.

And to think next week was when it was due to come out to play Sad

on the up....

Good news!

The SOC team have found clothes fibers and blood.

Now they just have to match up what they got.
It also helps that the mother of the scrote that was caught told the police his clothes had glass shards on them.
